We are thrilled to announce the Asheville Symphony’s 2026–2027 season! This year’s season features bold artistic collaborations, beloved masterworks, immersive concert experiences, and performances that stretch across Asheville and Western North Carolina.
A few highlights:
- We celebrate the 100th anniversary of First Baptist Church of Asheville, home of our Masterworks Series, with a special centennial concert featuring Saint-Saëns’ monumental “Organ” Symphony performed on the sanctuary organ.
- In partnership with the Moogseum and Bob Moog Foundation, we present the U.S. premiere of Gabriel Prokofiev’s Concerto for Minimoog Synthesizer and Orchestra, celebrating Asheville’s legacy of musical innovation.
- The Asheville Amadeus Festival returns, bringing world-class artists Kelli O’Hara and Aaron Diehl to Asheville for a festival centered on collaboration, creativity, and shared artistic experiences.
- We continue expanding the reach of the Asheville Symphony across the region with performances in Asheville, Black Mountain, Brevard, and beyond, including a side-by-side collaboration with the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra at Brevard Music Center.
- Our ALT ASO series returns with even more genre-bending performances at venues including Pisgah Brewing, Highland Brewing, White Horse Black Mountain, and The Orange Peel.
- Audiences can also look forward to major performances including Carmina Burana with immersive projection art, Handel’s Messiah, Symphony in the Park, and a special evening with Broadway star Kelli O’Hara backed by the Asheville Symphony.
From classical masterworks to Broadway, jazz, folk traditions, immersive multimedia experiences, and adventurous crossover performances, the 2026–2027 season reflects the Asheville Symphony’s continued commitment to artistic excellence, innovation, and community connection.
