Raffle Prize One:
Collection of Five “Cellar Selections” Handpicked by MetroWines

Iconic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons

Total Market Value $1,660 to $1,805. Many of these wines are difficult to find, and out of stock at wine shops.

Dominus Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 | Value $350
98 pts – Robert Parker
The winemaker trained at Chateau Petrus, one of the most iconic wineries in the world. Dominus’ grapes are sourced from the Napanook vineyard, among the best vineyards in Napa. The wine has a Graves-like earthiness that winds through the concentrated, medium to full-bodied palate, giving it a sense of savory gravitas,

Insignia 2018 | Value $320
98 pts – Jeb Dunnuck
Joe Phelps used his no-compromise philosophy to produce a qualitative benchmark for Napa Valley quality. A deep, rich wine with Bordeaux leanings.

Cliff Lede Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 | Value $325
100 pts – Robert Parker
Poetry is produced from the very best vines grown on their estate in Napa’s Stags Leap district. The Stags Leap district produced the Cabernet that won the Judgement of Paris, and beat the French at their own game. The wine is full bodied yet maintains a compelling restraint.

Lail J Daniel Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 | Value $290 to $350
The cuvee comes from a mix of Napa’s best terroirs: Howell Mountain, Stags Leap, Oakville and Calistoga. Including grapes from the Napanook vineyard which they share with Dominus. Expect a full-bodied, concentrated, yet weightless texture and flawless balance.

Shafer Hillside Select 2019 | Value $375 to $460
98+ Robert Parker (the “+” means the wine gets even better as it ages)
50 years ago, the Shafer family saved this neglected vineyard to make it one of the best sites in the Stags Leap district. The volcanic soil produces a wine that is  full-bodied, super-ripe, rich, dense and concentrated—a truly impressive California vin de garde.

with whiskey enthusiast Executive Director Daniel Crupi
