Lauded by Opera News as “evocative and ethereal”, “a honey-colored tone”, and “the most radiant solo singing,” – soprano Jessica Beebe is steadily gaining international attention as an affecting interpreter of repertoire spanning over four centuries, ranging from Renaissance music to contemporary American opera. 

In recent seasons, she has appeared as a guest soloist in concert with The New York City Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, The Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Hall, The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Raymond Leppard; The Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra; Omaha Symphony; Asheville Symphony; Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra; Lyric Fest; Lancaster Symphony Orchestra; Philharmonie Austin; The Princeton Festival Orchestra; The English Concert under Harry Bicket, Bourbon Baroque, Piffaro The Renaissance Wind Band; The Folger Consort; the Delaware Symphony Orchestra; the Utah Symphony under the baton of Craig Jessop, and several other orchestras and ensembles.

Ms. Beebe’s vast solo concert and oratorio repertoire includes such major works like Monteverdi’s Vespro della beata vergine; Vivaldi’s In furore iustissimae iræ and Gloria; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater; J. S. Bach’s Mass in B minor, St. Matthew Passion, St. John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, and a wide range of cantatas; Handel’s Messiah, Dixit Dominus, Samson, Semele, Jepthe, and Judas Maccabaeus; Mozart’s Mass in C minor, Coronation Mass, Vespers, and Requiem; Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, The Seasons, Te Deum, Lord Nelson Mass, and Harmoniemesse; Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem; Fauré’s Requiem; Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem; Delius’ Requiem; and Orff’s Carmina Burana. She has also performed late 20th & 21st-century works such as John Adam’s El Niño; Andrea Clearfield’s Alleluia; Donald McCullough’s Song of the Shulamite; John Rutter’s Requiem and Mass for the Children; and Richard Einhorn’s Voices of Light, Dan Forrest Creation, and more.

In the realm of opera, Ms. Beebe has performed a variety of roles including Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro (the role of her 2015 debut with the Princeton Festival), Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and Despina in Così fan tutte; Gluck’s Euridice and Humperdinck’s Gretel; 20th-century roles such as the First Niece in Peter Grimes with Princeton Opera Festival, and the First Daughter in Akhnaten with Indianapolis Opera, and in 17th-century repertoire, the commanding roles of La Gloire in Lully’s Alceste and Purcell’s Dido. Highlights of her operatic activity including covering the role of Lila in the 2016 East Coast premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s Cold Mountain, and joining Norway’s Bergen National Opera to cover the role of the Angel in Netia Jones’ hi-tech staged production of Messiah. In 2017, she helped to create the role of Luna in the world premiere of David Hertzberg’s The Wake World with Opera Philadelphia and in 2018 she covered Winnie in Lembit Beecher’s Sky on Swings. In 2019, Ms. Beebe debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the west coast debut of Meredith Monk’s opera, Atlas. Beebe is a frequent performer of contemporary opera and is currently workshopping new operas with Opera Philadelphia by Jennifer Higdon and Missy Mazzoli. She recently was in the US premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s opera ‘The Listeners’ with Opera Philadelphia.

Ms. Beebe is a member of GRAMMY winning ensemble The Crossing, GRAMMY nominated Clarion Society, GRAMMY nominated Seraphic Fire, founding member of Variant 6, Ensemble Altera, Bach Festival of Winter Park, Lorelei Ensemble, Trio Eos and Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia. Beebe is on 4 GRAMMY nominated albums with The Crossing and one GRAMMY nominated album with Clarion Society.

A native of the Philadelphia suburbs, Jessica Beebe earned her Bachelor of Music from the University of Delaware, her Master of Music in Early Music from Indiana University, and a Performance Certificate from London’s Royal College of Music. Ms. Beebe teaches voice at Franklin and Marshall College.

American tenor Ben Gulley has been hailed as “outstanding” (Opera News) and “startlingly gifted” (San Francisco Classical Voice). The award-winning artist’s recent seasons have included feature roles in opera, solo engagements, concert, film work, touring and important appearances abroad.

Gulley’s engagements for the 2025-26 season include Don José in Carmen with Knoxville Opera, Radames in Aida with Anchorage Opera, and Canio in Pagliacci with Opera San José and Opera Las Vegas, as well as concert appearances with the Lancaster Festival, Orchestra Miami, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony San Jose. Last season included an exciting variety of fully-staged productions including Rodolfo in La bohème with Knoxville Opera and Canio in Pagliacci with Pensacola Opera, as well as concert engagements such as a holiday concert with Orchestra Iowa, Carmina Burana with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Modesto Symphony Orchestra, and highlights from Bizet’s Carmen with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.

Recent artistic and critical triumphs include his debut as Romeo in the rave-reviewed Roméo et Juliette with Opera Idaho (2024), headlining “An Evening with Sir Tim Rice” alongside the EGOT legend himself (2024), winning Broadway World’s “Best Actor In A Musical” award for his debut as Quasimodo in Dennis DeYoung’s Hunchback of Notre Dame with Skylight Music Theatre (2022), a debut as Cavaradossi in Tosca with Sarasota Opera (2022), Tenor Soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with Orchestra Iowa (2023) and international engagements as Tenor Soloist in Bruckner’s Te Deum with Maestro Hartmut Haenchen and as Tenor Soloist in Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde opposite renowned mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung with the Belgian National Orchestra in Brussels and Namur, Belgium under Maestro Hugh Wolff (2021). In April of 2023, Gulley enjoyed a triumph with Portland Opera, jumping into the role of the Prince in Rusalka on two days’ notice and traveling directly to a dress rehearsal with no prior musical or stage rehearsals. Then, weeks later, he ended the season in similarly heroic and dramatic fashion by learning and performing the role of Foresto in Verdi’s Attila in three weeks’ time for a last-minute replacement at the Opera Festival of Chicago.

Other engagements of note for the 2023-2024 season included debuting with and headlining Symphony San Jose’s Christmas Pops program, a solo recital with pianist and NPR’s Peter Dugan for Fontana Chamber Arts, a role debut as Edgardo in a return to Opera Orlando for Lucia di Lammermoor, concert appearances for Symphony San Jose’s season finale, “A Night of Puccini,” a return to Orchestra Iowa as the Tenor Soloist in Carmina Burana, headlining with the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra for their Fourth of July Touring Patriotic Pops Concerts, and an Orchestra Miami debut with their “Night of Puccini” concert.

Season highlights for the 2022-2023 season included engagements with the Asheville Symphony (“Night at the Opera”), concerts for Hidden Valley Music Seminars and the Tallahassee Symphony (“Viva Verdi!”), Tenor Soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with Orchestra Iowa, Radames in Aida with Fort Worth Opera, and Tenor Soloist in Bruckner’s Te Deum with the Belgian National Orchestra at the BOZAR in Brussels, Belgium.

Amidst the 2019-2022 COVID-19 disruption in the performing arts, Mr. Gulley performed the Tenor Soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (2021) and with the University of Texas-Austin Symphony (2022), his Dallas Opera Recital (digital) debut in 2020, headlined an “Opera in the Park” concert with Opera Idaho (2021), produced the online “Aria-Thon” broadcast charity event and “Opera in the Park with Ben” with Opera Steamboat (2020), as well as his 2019-2020 Ben Gulley National Recital Tour presented by LiveOnStage (cut short due to COVID-19 lockdown), recitals for Purdue University, North Dakota State University, Epworth by the Sea, Banner Elk Community Concerts and the Jacksonville, FL Museum of Science and History (2021).

Previous seasons included engagements with Opera Orlando for a role and house debut as Dick Johnson in The Girl of the Golden West (2019), Opera San Luis Obispo as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (2018) and Radames in Aida (2015), Sarasota Opera as Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco (2018), a debut as the Prince in Dvorak’s Rusalka with Opera Steamboat (2017), a debut as Dr. Marianus in Mahler’s 8th Symphony with South Dakota Symphony (2017), the Tenor Soloist in “Beethoven vs. Coldplay” by Steve Hackman with the Grand Rapids Symphony (2017), Christmas Pops concerts with the Jacksonville Symphony (2018) and Louisville Symphony Orchestra (2018), an Operetta Recital with Sarasota Opera (2018), and headliner for The Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s Opera Ball (2019). Mr. Gulley made his international company debut with the Staatsoper Hamburg, where he covered the late Marcello Giordani as Énée in Les Troyens under Maestro Kent Nagano (2016), performing at the Great Pyramids of Egypt in Giza (2017), a company and role debut with Sarasota Opera as Pedro in d’Albert’s Tiefland (2017), his Carnegie Hall debut with The American Symphony as the Tenor Soloist in Haydn’s Mass in Time of War (2017), and his celebrated 70-date Ben Gulley Solo US National Recital Tour,presented by Allied Concert Services (2014-2015).

Mr. Gulley is equally at home in the musical theater, having won praise and awards for his turn as Quasimodo in Dennis DeYoung’s Hunchback of Notre Dame (Skylight Musical Theatre, 2022). Dan in Next To Normal (MTH, 2016), Jack in Into The Woods (MTH, 2010), An Evening with Cole Porter (MTH, 2014) and originating Disney’s stage version of the evil puppeteer, Stromboli, in Stephen Schwartz’s Gepetto and Son (now My Son Pinocchio, Coterie Theater).

As a contemporary crossover artist, 2016 marked the commercial release of Mr. Gulley’s debut solo album of original music, In Between, which is available on every major music distribution and streaming service. From 2010 through 2014, Mr. Gulley was also a member of the Sony/BMG Masterworks recording and global touring group The American Tenors, alongside fellow tenors Nathan Granner and Daniel Montenegro and produced by creator and producer of The Irish Tenors, Frank McNamara. Mr. Gulley was also featured twice on the nationally-televised PBS Memorial Day event “Celebration At The Station” with the Kansas City Symphony, conducted by Maestro Michael Stern.

Recognized for her “velvety legato and embracing warmth of sound” (Washington Classical Review) and “lyric-mezzo of uncommon beauty” (The Washington Post,)  mezzo soprano Kristen Dubenion-Smith enjoys an active performing career in oratorio and sacred vocal chamber music, specializing in music of the medieval, renaissance and baroque eras.

As a concert soloist, Kristen has earned recognition for her performances of the works of the high baroque, especially Bach and Handel. Highlights from recent seasons include Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Washington National Cathedral Baroque Orchestra, Handel’s Messiah  with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with The Washington Bach Consort, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with TENET. In previous seasons, she has appeared as Alto Soloist in works such as Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, Praetorius’ Christmas Vespers, Mozart’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah with ensembles including Apollo’s Fire, Handel Choir of Baltimore, Arts on Alexander, The New Dominion Chorale, The Folger Consort, and Chatham Baroque. In the summer of 2019, Ms. Dubenion-Smith attended the American Bach Soloists Academy where she was featured in Bach’s Trauerode and Mass in B Minor. She was also a 2020 (transferred to 2022 due to the pandemic) Virginia Best Adams Fellow with the Carmel Bach Festival.

Starting in the fall of 2016, Ms. Dubenion-Smith joined the Choir of Men and Boys/Girls at the Washington National Cathedral as the first woman to be offered a position in this choir. She had previously served as cantor since 2011.  In her time with the Cathedral Choir, she has sung for liturgies, commemorations, and events of national importance- most recently, the State Funerals of President George H. W. Bush and Senator John McCain, the internment of Matthew Shepard, the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony and Prayer Service, and the 9/11 services at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

As a professional choral singer, Ms. Dubenion-Smith performs regularly with The Washington Bach Consort, Ensemble Altera, Res Facta, and the Grammy Nominated, NYC based, Clarion Choir. She also sings on the 2021 Grammy winning recording of The Prison by Ethel Smyth with The Experiential Choir and Orchestra. She can also be heard on commercial recordings with The Folger Consort, Apollo’s Fire, Cathedra, and Via Veritate.

To keep busy during the pandemic, Ms. Dubenion-Smith started a weekly series on her YouTube channel entitled Social DistanSING. Despite specializing in early music, she spans many genres of music on her channel, featuring music by Dolly Parton, Claudio Monteverdi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Enya, Henry Purcell, the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Benjamin Britten, Extreme, Hildegard von Bingen, Toto, Richard Einhorn, Elise Witt, and Frideric Handel as well as commissioned arrangements of hymns and popular music, specifically for her series, by dear friend and colleague, Carter Sligh.

2025-2026 season highlights include Bach’s Mass in B Minor with the Washington Bach Consort, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri with Variant 6, Lang’s Little Match Girl Passion with Bridge Voices, and Handel’s Messiah with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Dubenion-Smith will also be making her debut with Aeternum in May 2026.

Originally from Michigan, Ms. Dubenion-Smith attended Alma College (Bachelor of Music) before moving to Maryland to complete her studies at The Peabody Conservatory of Music (Master of Music) in Baltimore.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, 24 year old American bass-baritone SAM DHOBHANY makes his entrance into the operatic scene by storm. Dhobhany enters into his second year in Houston Grand Opera’s Butler Studio after winning the 2024Ana María Martínez Encouragement Award in HGO’s 36th Annual Eleanor McCollum Competition Concert of Arias. 

Dhobhany looks forward to an impressive list of debuts in the 25/26 season including Houston Grand Opera’s Butler Studio Production’s Of Mice and Men, where he sings George Milton. In addition, Dhobhany is seen as Undertaker in Porgy and Bess, Ser Amantio di Nicolao in Il Trittico/ Gianni Schicchi, British Major in Silent Night, Bass Soloist (cover) in Messiah, and Officer in Il barbiere di Siviglia. Dhobhany also makes his concert debut as the Bass Soloist in The Santa Fe Symphony’s Messiah. 

Dhobhany’s 24/25 season as a Butler Studio Artist included performing the roles of Alidoro in the English Family Day Production of La Cenerentola directed by Isabel Leonard, Customs Officer in La Boheme, and Terry in Breaking the Waves. Dhobhany also covered Schunard in La Boheme and performed scenes as Schunard from La Boheme and Secret Police Agent from The Consul in the Butler Studio Artist Showcase. His season also included receiving Second Prize in the Rocky Mountain Region of the Metropolitan Laffont Competition, Finalist in the prestigious George London Competition, and Finalist in Dallas Opera Lone Star Competition. This summer he joined Wolf Trap Opera as a Filene Artist, where he received rave reviews of his performances as Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro and Zuniga in Carmen.

Dhobhany’s 23/24 season included performing as a second-year Apprentice Artist with The Santa Fe Opera, where he performed Marchese d’Obigny in La Traviata  and covered Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore and the Notary in Der Rosenkavalier. He also performed the role of Harašta in The Cunning Little Vixen as scenes in the Apprentice Artist Showcase. Dhobhany’s 23/24 season also included performances as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro with CCM Opera d’arte,  Frank in Dayton Opera’s Die Fladermaus, and Bass Soloist in Beethoven’s 9th with Lima Symphony. Dhobhany additionally received a multitude of accolades and awards including Encouragement Award Recipient of the Metropolitan Laffont Great Lakes Regional Competition, Second Prize of the Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s Mildred Miller Vocal Competition, First Prize of Dayton Opera’ Tri-State Vocal Competition, and First Prize of CCM Undergraduate’s Vocal Competition.

In the 2022/23 season, Dhobhany joined his first year as an Apprentice Aritst with The Santa Fe Opera, where he made his company and professional debut as Un Médicin in Pelleas et Melisande. He also appeared as the Count in Le nozze di Figaro, Marcello in La Boheme, and Don Alvaro in Il viaggio a Reims in the Apprentice Scenes Showcase. Additional performances this season included the roles of Simone & Aeneas in CCM Opera d’arte’s double bill of Dido & Aeneas/ Gianni Schicchi as well as performing as the Bass Soloist in Beethoven’s 9th with Acadian Symphony Orchestra.

Additional roles include covering Dottore Grenvil in La Traviata with Wolf Trap Opera and scenes as Don Pizzaro from Fidelio and Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore from his time as a Wolf Trap Opera Studio Artist. Additional awards include honors from The Santa Fe Opera, National Opera Association Carolyn Bailey Argento Competition, Schmidt Vocal Arts, and the Young Arts Foundation. Dhobhany is a 2022 HGO YAVA alum and University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (B.M. ‘24) alum, where he studied with Kenneth Shaw. 

When Sam is not singing, he enjoys PA announcing for his local Brooklyn basketball team, cooking and grilling new recipes, and spending time with his family, friends, and his partner.
