PRIZE DESCRIPTIONS

PRIZE 1:

Saturday Luxe Lunch with Curated Wine Pairings for Eight at Quench Wine Bistro (Approximate value: $500)

This fun, informative and adventurous “Luxe Lunch” is based on the theme you select. Our host guides you through the wines, providing fascinating stories and fun facts. And you’ll have plenty of time to converse with your friends and staff. The theme is your decision! Perhaps, you’re vacationing in Italy and want to try the wines before you go. Or you’d like to taste Chardonnay from all over the globe. You might want to be adventurous. Our most popular theme presents little-known wines you never knew you loved. Our staff of wine professionals will select four wines that fit your “theme” and Chef Sam will pair three courses to the wine. This is a unique opportunity to do a “Luxe Lunch” with wine and food professionals!

PRIZE 2:

Collection of Five “Cellar Selections,” handpicked by MetroWines (Approximate value: $1,900)

Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill 2015

A powerful, structured Cabernet from the Diamond Mountain district, one of Napa’s premier AVA’s. Excellent critical reception and the depth to age for decades. Expect dark fruit, cassis, minerality, and firm tannins—hallmarks of this vineyard’s long‑lived style.

Peak drinking window is 2028–2038, when tannins soften and secondary notes (cedar, earth, tobacco) emerge but will further develop through 2045 if properly stored.

Giuseppe Quintarelli Giuseppe Alzero Cabernet 2013

A monumental, opulent, appassimento‑style Cabernet blend—intense, aromatic, and built for very long aging. Expect soaring richness, deep fruit, and the unmistakable Quintarelli magic. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot.

Very approachable now with peak window 2027-2040. Dense, ripe, concentrated fruit, velvety texture with enormous depth, and the alcohol beautifully integrated.

Joseph Phelps Insignia 2022

A richly concentrated, high‑scoring Napa Valley Bordeaux blend showing dark fruit, polished tannins, and impressive early approachability, with critics awarding it multiple 96‑point ratings. It’s already expressive but structured enough to age beautifully for decades.

Peak window is 2028-2040. Dark berry compote, allspice, black cherry, red currant, dark chocolate and coffee bean with tobacco and graphite emerging with age.

Shafer Hillside Select 2022

A highly rated, powerful Napa Valley Cabernet showing exceptional depth, purity, and long-term aging potential. Black plum, coffee, spice, leather, and incense with gorgeous depth and plenty of structure. Peak window is 2028-2040.

Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri Sassicaia 2022

This wine is already being hailed as a brilliant, poised, and classically styled vintage, showing remarkable freshness despite the hot, dry growing season. Critics consistently score it highly, praising its elegance, balance, and long aging potential.

Peak window is 2030-2042. A wine of aristocratic elegance, surprising freshness, and classic Sassicaia restraint. Medium to full‑bodied with velvety tannins and lively acidity. Red and dark fruits with tobacco, spice and a long, persistent, elegant finish.

Thank you to our partner, Metro Wines, for their generous support, which made this raffle possible.
